Georgina Rodríguez Confirms Her Engagement With Cristiano Ronaldo On Instagram

On 11th August 2025, Instagram was taken by storm over a single post. A simple photograph, of a couple, hand in hand, but with one element pumping up the heat, a 20 carat diamond ring. 

“Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas.” was the caption in Georgina Rodríguez's instagram post yesterday, with a pic of a huge diamond ring. After getting over the shock, and jealousy, and ignoring the devil on our shoulder telling us to plan a heist, all we felt is a warm congratulations for the happy couple. The caption, which loosely translates to “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”, is a beautiful sentiment. Its a soft but strong plaque to the relationship this power couple has shared. 

The Story So Far

The couple is 8 years old. Back in Argentina, when Georgina was training to be a dancer and working retail, even in her wildest dreams she must have not seen this hunk of a diamond coming her way. She met Ronaldo in 2016. A real meet cute. She was working retail at a Gucci Store in Madrid where Ronaldo finds himself one day. We all got a wind of their relationship in early 2017. Since then, the couple has been blessed with 2 gorgeous daughters, Alana Martina (8 years old), and Bella Esmeralda (3 years old). Tragedy struck with Bella's birth, as her twin brother did not survive. The grief has only made them stronger thought. This announcement is proof.

We see Ronaldo breaking the cardinal “3 Month Salary on an Engagement Ring” rule here. The internet is abuzz. Experts have already analyzed the ring in detail. 

At 5 centimeters long, conservative estimates put the ring at 15 carats minimum, However, the general consensus is that the main diamond in the middle is between 25-30 carats. Laura Taylor, a specialist at Lorel Diamonds, commends Ronaldo’s selection and claimed that it was one of the most brilliant rings they have seen in recent years. 

She further stated, "Oval cuts are known for their brilliant faceting, which maximizes sparkle and gives the stone a bright, lively appearance from every angle. The center stone is flanked by substantial side diamonds, adding even more sparkle and making the already impressive main stone look even larger.". Founder of Frank Darling Jewelers, Kegan Fisher, claims that the 2 smaller diamonds at either sides are around a carat each. All this puts the price of the ring around $2-5 Million. 
So we say lets give Mr.Ronaldo a pass and not hold him to the “3 Month Salary” rule, because, one, he sure knows how to pick a good ring, and two, a core requirement of an engagement ring is that it should be wearable on a finger, and considering his yearly income, that might not have been possible.

Now What?

Well, wedding plans have a tendency to stress even the most average of couples, let alone one of the most famous football couples out there. What remains to be seen is if Georgina Rodríguez becomes Georgina Ronaldo or will she hyphenate and become Georgina Rodríguez-Ronaldo.
